Without further ado, here are the top things you should do on your trip to Jamaica:

Hit the bobsled track

You can’t go to Jamaica and not go on the Bobsled! If you love some adventure, buckle up and hit the bobsled track, one of Jamaica’s star attractions. The bobsled lets you enjoy the beautiful jungle scenery and the thrills of a ride through the Jamaican rainforest. Race through the jungle as fast as a bullet or enjoy a leisurely ride, you control the speed of your adventure – but let us tell you, nothing beats the fun of a fast ride on the bobsled!

Go zip-lining

A trip to Jamaica is incomplete without a zip-line excursion. It is great fun flying through and above the lush vegetation of the rainforest. Not only this, Jamaica offers an exciting adventure in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios. You can feel the bustle within as you glide through the rainforest, zip lining on every platform.

In Ocho Rios, you can top it off with a short ride down the sky lift to the entrance of the park or you can ride it back to the top of the Mystic Mountain. In any way, it is a fabulous experience riding over the picturesque and scenic dense jungle.

Go for a hike and bike tour

In Jamaica, you can also go for a hiking and biking excursion and you can expect nothing but a lot of fun. Hiking and Biking in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth is an enjoyable experience as you get to see some extraordinary views of the South Coast by climbing to the top of the Chateux Garden. During the climb, you pass through local villages and farms and get to know about the way they live and have been managing their lives. It is an informative hike followed by all downhill bike to the Caribbean Sea.

Relax on the beach

If you go to Jamaica and don’t spend a relaxing day on the beach—you’re doing it wrong! Jamaica boasts miles of pretty beaches with white sand and turquoise blue water. Those white beaches with majestic blue water are tempting and truly a must-see. You can spend hours just enjoying the sun and the crystal-clear calm waters. Need we say more? Well, you can also enjoy the sunset on the beach, admire the natural beauty and capture some amazing photos.

Go parasailing

One of the best views of Jamaica’s beaches is from high above and nothing is better than getting a chance to parasail over them. Several companies in Jamaica offer parasailing with gear and round-trip transportation. It is safe, fun and easy. You just take off and land directly on the deck of the parasailing vessel operated by an experienced captain.

You just need to book your activity and enjoy the fantastic aerial views of the Jamaican coastline and the azure waters from high above. Don’t forget to take your camera along for spectacular photos from a bird-eye’s view.

Visit the Pelican Bar

If you are interested in a fun day trip in Jamaica and are also up for some adventure, the Pelican Bar must be a part of your Jamaican itinerary. It requires a couple of hours drive and a boat ride to get to this cool bar that is located in the middle of the ocean on the South Coast of Jamaica. You can literally spend the entire day doing absolutely nothing here besides sunbathing and enjoying the sparkling water around this rustic, wooden bar.

Climb the falls

There are some amazing waterfalls in Jamaica, which include the Mayfield Falls, YS Falls, Reach Falls, and the most famous Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios. Dunn’s River Falls is a major attraction and a must see on a tour to Jamaica because it cascades directly into the ocean. The amazing part is that here you get the opportunity to actually climb the breathtaking waterfall. The water is refreshing and the pathways are not difficult to walk through.

If you go with a guide, the trip to the seven-tired waterfall becomes more beautiful and fun since the local guide can show you where it is safe to swim, sit, and jump.

Enjoy the ATV experience

Apart from riding the scenic chairlift up to the top of the mountain, relaxing on the beach, and going zip-lining, there are a flurry of other activities to do in Jamaica. This includes riding over Jamaica’s rugged terrain on a four-wheel ATV bike. You can journey up to 2200 feet above the sea into the scenic countryside on an ATV.

Various ATV operating companies in Jamaica provide ATV experiences allowing you to explore Jamaica’s backcountry. The experience of climbing up the steep mountain and taking a look over the island as you reach the top is totally exhilarating and something one shouldn’t miss.

Bamboo Rafting

Bamboo rafting down the legendary Martha Brae River is one of the best day-trips in Jamaica – something you should definitely try! Get onboard a 30-foot bamboo raft and enjoy the beauty of Jamaica as you peacefully coast down the 3-mile river. As your professional guide/captain navigates the jade-green waters of the Martha Brae River, he will also tell you about Martha Brae’s legends. If it’s a hot day, you can also jump in the river to cool off.

Visit  the Bob Marley Museum

Are you a Bob Marley fan? Visit the reggae legend’s birthplace and final resting place in Kingston, Jamaica. Created by the musician’s wife and run by Bob Marley’s family, the museum features personal treasure displays. There is also a gallery of photographs, a theatre with a seating of around 80 people, a gift shop from which you can buy a Bob Marley record to enjoy later and a café that specializes in Jamaican food.

The museum is open between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. every day except Sunday and provides a guided tour of about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Visit Rose Hall

If you are a history lover and like to visit historical places, Rose Hall is a must see. Carefully restored during the 1960s and built in the 1770s, Rose Hall is known to be one of the most significant and historic mansions in Jamaica. The interior is decorated with silk wallpaper, a collection of antiques from Europe, and a beautiful chandelier. There is also a museum that showcases the mansion’s history of slavery.

A lot of people visit Rose Hall to appreciate the beautiful architecture and opulent furnishings of the place but a major attraction of Rose Hall is the White Witch. According to local legend, the spirit of former plantation owner Annie Palmer haunts the grounds of the mansion.

It is believed that she used to practice voodoo and witchcraft and it is also rumored that she killed all of her four husbands. Hence, those interested in the legend come to take a guided tour of the mansion. For those feeling especially brave, haunted night tours are also offered.

Listen to live Reggae

Reggae music can be heard around the world but if you come to its birthplace and don’t hear it, then you are missing out something important in Jamaica. You can find a local beach bar with live Reggae music or if you are staying at a resort, then it will most likely have a live reggae band playing throughout the week for you to enjoy.

Drink Blue Mountain Coffee

As your start the day looking forward to all these adventures and fun, make sure you are starting it with a cup of freshly brewed Jamaica’s finest Blue Mountain Coffee. Try adding a taste of coconut rum cream in your coffee and you are in for a treat!

Indulge in a Jamaican Rum Punch

Jamaican Rum Punch – this is the drink you can’t and shouldn’t miss when on a trip to Jamaica. Chances are this is something you will be served as a welcome drink when you check in to your hotel. But if you aren’t, don’t come back without trying it.
